Lightwater’s housing market is rising steadily due to the village’s popularity

With excellent shops inc a wine/coffee bar, two schools, country park and J3 of M3 the village has a lot to offer says Tim who has worked and lived in the village for over 30years.

I am pleased to report that the fall in house prices seems to have abated. In many cases prices have actually improved compared to last year. I believe in Lightwater this is mainly due to the severe, indeed chronic, shortage of property coming to the market. As we all know, if demand outstrips supply prices are likely to rise. Banks and building societies are lending again and this is also a governing factor.

So where does this leave us? Rather like 2012 we still have plenty of buyers. Naturally, the market is still price sensitive, and although I can report that the properties we are selling are attracting a great deal of interest, there is still a lack of correctly priced homes currently available.

Regrettably there is a tendency for some clients and agents to market their homes at prices which even in this buoyant market are optimistic to say the least, however.there are of course, obviously exceptions where properties are of an unusual nature or are
positioned in some of our more prestigious roads.

This is my forty third year in estate agency and I believe this together with my unparalleled local knowledge is why I am best placed to help you move.
